TCCHC cuts ribbon on new public health services building
Members of the Tillamook County Community Health Centers’ staff and board of directors gathered on April 19, to cut the ribbon and host an open house at the new public health service building on 8th Street in Tillamook. Lincoln, Tillamook counties to receive Secure Rural Schools Funds
Lincoln and Tillamook counties will share in $47.7 million being sent to Oregon in federal payments under the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act (SRS) for schools and road maintenance, youth job training, wildfire prevention, watershed restoration and habitat conservation. Lincoln County will receive $1,298,614.26, and Tillamook County will see $662,760.56, allocated from the U.S. Forest Service, with more expected from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) soon, according to U.S. Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley. ...

TLC, a Division of Fibre Federal Credit Union supports animal shelters
TLC, a Division of Fibre Federal Credit Union is helping children save money and save homeless animals with its Cash Club Cares Program. For every new member aged 18 or under who signs up for a Cash Club or Student Savings account, TLC donates five dollars to the Humane Society or animal shelter nearest the location where the account was opened, up to $5,000 total per year. Recently, TLC presented a check for $689 to the Tillamook Animal Shelter. Since the Cash Club Cares Program began in 2017, TLC has donated $33,321 to animal shelters in Tillamook, Lincoln, Clatsop, Columbia, and Cowlitz Counties, including $3,549 to the Tillamook Animal Shelter. TLC plans to continue this partnership with animal shelters and encourage community involvement within its service areas.

Staffers and commissioners from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife gathered in Tillamook on April 18 and 19, for the commission’s regular meeting and to tour project sites across the county.
