‘Someone knows something’: Family of Oak Island woman found dead in Smith Creek offering $5,000 reward
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - A family is now offering a $5,000 reward for any information about their daughter who went missing six months ago. Anna Walker left her home in Oak Island on October 28, 2023, and then her body was found floating in Smith Creek in Wilmington about a month later on November 25, 2023.
Alligator spotted in Caswell Beach; residents asked to contact officials if they spot it

(WECT) - An alligator was spotted on Caswell Beach Monday and Tuesday morning, according to the Town of Caswell Beach. “Yesterday, town administration requested that police notify the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) because our officers are not authorized, trained, and equipped to handle dangerous wildlife. Again, if the alligator is spotted, please keep your distance and urge others to do the same as well,” a town announcement states.
