Springfield Community Players to perform “The Unexpected Guest”
SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – Come join the Springfield Community Players for a spell of mystery and suspense as we kick off our 2024 season with the Agatha Christie classic “The Unexpected Guest.” A traveller runs his car into a ditch in South Wales. Seeking help at the nearest house, he stumbles across a dead body. It isn’t long before he discovers the apparent killer, but there’s much more to this seemingly simple murder, and everyone has secrets. Can you guess the solution before the play is over?
Springfield prioritizes public safety at demo appeals meeting
SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – On Monday, April 15, the Springfield Selectboard heard appeals from Community Restoration Corps Inc. (CRC), the owner of three properties deemed unsafe by the board and ordered to be demolished. Well, trout season is here. I’ll wait until the water warms up, maybe another two weeks, before I go. I have spoken with a couple fishermen I know. They report some success. There are a couple small brooks in the area I like to fish, but nothing beats a 2- or 3-year old beaver pond. I mention beaver ponds for a reason. Trout grow rapidly in a beaver pond. Trout 3 or 4 inches in length the first year the dam is built can be 8 inches the next year.
