Child saved after nearly drowning at Six Flags waterpark in Upstate New York
Queensbury, N.Y. — When she was pulled from the lazy river inside an Upstate New York water park last weekend, the 5-year-old girl wasn’t breathing, according to reports. Stacy Brayton, a paramedic, was visiting the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark in Queensbury with her young son on Saturday when she saw people carry a child from the Tak-It-Eesi-Creek area, WNYT NewsChannel 13 reported. Although she wasn’t on duty, she rushed to help.
Warren County awards Jasmine Luellen for her courage
In observance of National Crime Victims' Rights Week, the Warren County District Attorney's Office honored Jasmine Luellen's strength after her husband and son were killed by an intoxicated motorcyclist in 2022. Luellen was presented the Courage Award and other Warren County leaders were recognized for their work with crime victims.
