More Sunshine Expected Tomorrow, Shower Chances Return Late Weekend
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - Good Friday evening everyone! It was another beautiful day today with plenty of sunshine and temperatures near average. Of course the other greater story was the fact that we didn’t have much of a breeze present. That all came down to the state of our weather setup. High pressure remains the dominant force in control of our weather pattern through the first half of the weekend. But now, we don’t have a stronger system pulling to our east creating what we call a tight gradient as wind in simple terms is air moving from high to low pressure. We are keeping an eye on a system for you out in the Midwest that has been bringing some severe weather to that portion of the US. I am not expecting any severe weather as it comes into play here locally, but it will bring us a return to showers late in the weekend.

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - Good Thursday Morning everyone! After some snow showers to finish off the day yesterday, skies have quickly started to clear out. However, we will continue to be battling some gusty winds. Since midnight across the state, most spot have seen gusts top out at or near the 30 mph mark. Because of this, you will also want to dress for temperatures feeling more like the upper single digits and low teens heading out the door. While these values will eventually look to make improvements, they will be significantly lower than air temperatures throughout the daytime.
