Severe Thunderstorm Threat to the East
LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Windy and dry air to the west continues the fire danger, while severe thunderstorms are possible to the east. Some scattered storms this morning to the east clear out by the afternoon, returning this evening and overnight. Threats include hail up to golf ball sized, and winds gusting up to 60+ mph. Tornado risk is low, but not zero.
Longhorns to Close out District Season on Friday in New Deal

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Critical fire danger returns to the region as we move into the weekend with increased wildfire danger for all the South Plains. Winds will begin light Saturday morning and increase in mid-afternoon and into the evening. Winds may top the 40-mph mark in the western South Plains late Saturday.
