MONDAY: Rain and storms will impact the start of the new work and school week across the Mid-South. This morning – storms to the west will be weakening as they trek eastward through sunrise. After the initial band fades, expect scattered to, at times, numerous activity to kick off through the afternoon and early evening hours with highs in the lower 70s. Occasional showers will shift east with some clearing late – this could lead to patchy fog zones by early Tuesday with lows in the 60s.

Fortunately, the system will have weakened significantly as it enters the area, but it will bring the potential for gusty winds, small hail, and flash flooding for the early morning hours Monday. Rainfall amounts are expected to average from an inch for most areas to as much as two and half inches for some locations.
