Kayak fishing series headed to Poplar Bluff this summer
Kayak fishing is coming to Poplar Bluff this summer. The Kayak Adventure Series presented by GoPro recently announced in a press release Poplar Bluff will be one of six sites later this year for a catch, measure, photo, release (CMPR) kayak fishing tournament. The Kayak Adventure Series will come to Poplar Bluff July 11-13 for Old Town Watercraft’s “Ozarkana,” with waters known for their beauty and big bass.

Sellars headed to UAPB after strong season for Raiders
Anthony Sellars was a bright spot in what was long season for the Three Rivers College men’s basketball team — and now he has found his next collegiate destination. Sellars recently signed a letter of intent to play for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff next season. Golfers hit the greens for Ozark Shootout
The weather held off just long enough for the 2024 Tom Hoover Ozark Golf Invitational opening weekend at Westwood Hills Country Club. Before the participants could hit the greens for an intense competition, the top ten golfers from last season competed in the 38th annual shootout on Friday, sponsored by Michelob Ultra. Though the shootout is a time for players to mingle and get warmed up, each player saw it as an opportunity to build momentum for Saturday's opening round.
One Injured in Single-Vehicle Accident in Wayne County
(WAPPAPELLO) A man from Fisk, Missouri was injured in a single vehicle accident in Wayne County on Friday afternoon. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 37-year old Aaron Smiley of Fisk was driving northbound on Highway T, 1 mile east of Wappapello in a 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse when he ran off the left side of the road, went airborne, and struck a tree. Smiley was not wearing a seatbelt, and was taken to the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.

Lady Royals edge East Carter to capture third in OFC tournament
The Twin Rivers Lady Royals fought tooth and nail against the East Carter Lady Redbirds to secure third place in this year’s OFC softball tournament. The Lady Royals jumped out front early, and though the game got close, they managed to ease past the Lady Redbirds 6-5 on Wednesday at Three Rivers College.
