Family members release over a dozen balloons for ‘Jordy,’ a young woman found dead in Dakota Dunes
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - It has been 365 days since 23-year-old, Jordan Beardshear was found dead in her Dakota Dunes apartment. Thursday evening at around 7 p.m., members of the Beardshear family gathered in Calvary Cemetary to release dozens of balloons to honor and celebrate the life and memory of a young woman whom they called “Jordy.”

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The University of South Dakota Coyote women’s basketball program has found the new leader of their pack. Sources within the University of Idaho tell Dakota News Now Sports that Idaho Vandal women’s head basketball coach Carrie Eighmey is leaving to take the head coaching position at USD and succeed Kayla Karius who left about two weeks ago to take over at her alma mater, the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay.

ELK POINT, S.D. (KTIV) - A woman on the ballot for South Dakota’s State House of Representatives was arrested in April after a pursuit. Court documents show Robin Schiro of Elk Point, South Dakota is charged with obstructing an officer, jailer, firefighter. Schiro is currently running for District 17 of South Dakota’s State House of Representatives, which covers parts of Union and Clay County. She is running as a Republican candidate.
