Plymouth County man charged with manslaughter in toddler son’s fatal overdose
Donald Humes is charged with murder after his son died of an acute methadone overdose in April of 2022, the District Attorney said. Two years after the death of a toddler from a methadone overdose, his father has been charged with manslaughter, the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office announced.

The streets of Quincy are a little cleaner today after the Quincy Police Department's Drug Control Unit clapped the cuffs on a 31-year-old Weymouth man during a crackdown in the Montclair area yesterday. The successful sting operation, which included surveillance tactics, led to the seizure of a significant stockpile of crack cocaine and the potent synthetic opioid fentanyl, substances which have long plagued the streets of Massachusetts.

In 1843 the Inspector of the Lighthouse Service, I.W.P. Lewis, wrote a report on Minot Ledge in which he stated that between 1832 and 1841 there were more than 40 vessels that had been destroyed by the rocky ledge in the harbor just off the towns of Cohasset and Scituate, Massachusetts, to the southeast of Boston.
