Man accused of stabbing woman in Hancock County
PENOBSCOT (WGME) -- Deputies arrested a man who they say stabbed a woman in Penobscot before running into the woods. The Hancock County Sheriff's Office says the woman called dispatch and told them a man, later identified as 33-year-old Michael Bakeman, was suffering from a medical event. The call then ended abruptly.
Maine man accused of assaulting store employee, stabbing customer with needle during theft
HOLDEN (WGME) -- Police say a Maine man assaulted an employee and stabbed a customer with a used needle after they tried to stop him from stealing from a store in Holden. The Holden Police Department arrested 41-year-old Clifford Neville of Bangor on Friday and charged him with robbery, aggravated assault, violation of bail, and two outstanding warrants.
Police see growing trend of recidivism across state
HOLDEN -- According to local law enforcement there have been growing concerns over an increase in repeat offenders being on the streets and violating bail conditions. "This trend of people being arrested on multiple counts of bail seems to be a major uptick in our area," said Lt. Andrew Whitehouse with the Holden Police Department.

BLUE HILL, Maine (WABI/Gray News) - A Maine couple celebrated their 100th and 97th birthdays, as well as their 78th wedding anniversary, with friends and family. World War II veteran Malcolm “Pete” Carter celebrated his 100th birthday and his wife, Wahneeta Carter, celebrated her 97th birthday Saturday in the company of friends and family at the First Baptist Church of Blue Hill, WABI reports.
Third annual Jane's Walk comes to downtown Ellsworth
