Homicide investigation underway in Sacramento's Greenhaven neighborhood
SACRAMENTO – A homicide investigation is underway in Sacramento's Greenhaven neighborhood Monday morning.The scene is near Riverside Boulevard and 43rd Avenue, just off of Interstate 5.Sacramento police said, a little before 3 a.m., officers responded to the 6200 block of Riverside Boulevard to investigate reports of a person shot. That person later died at the hospital, police said. Investigators believe the shooting happened along the 900 block of Jonfer Way, near 43rd Avenue, with the shooting victim eventually driving to the Riverside Boulevard scene. No known suspects have been identified at this time. Authorities have not released the name of the victim. A large law enforcement presence remains in the area, which is populated by several apartment complexes. Eastbound 43rd Avenue is blocked in the immediate due to the investigation.
