An arrest has been made after a woman was found dead at a hotel in North Georgia over the weekend. The Georgia Bureau Of Investigation was called into help the Hartwell Police Department after 36 year old, Candy Downer.

Elbert County man gets life in prison for killing girlfriend
A Bowman man was sentenced to life in prison on Monday after he pleaded guilty to murdering his girlfriend who was stabbed to death in their home. Andrew Nicholas Berry, 35, entered the pleas to murder and cruelty to children in Elbert County Superior Court, according to Northern Circuit District Attorney Parks White.

Woman, 73, killed in crash at intersection of South Carolina highway, coroner says
SENECA, S.C. — A Seneca, South Carolina, woman was killed Monday in a crash at an Upstate intersection, according to the coroner. Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said Mildred Towe Kelley, 73, was involved in a crash just after 11 a.m. at the intersection of S.C. Highway 183, or Pickens Highway, and Wolf Stake Church Road near Seneca.
