Touch a Truck next week at Lake Storey in Galesburg
GALESBURG, Ill. (WMBD) — Galesburg’s Parks and Recreation Department will host the annual Touch a Truck community event on Wednesday, May 1 at the Lake Storey Pavilion. The event, which will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m., will feature a plethora of exciting vehicles for kids to see and explore, including fire trucks, police cars, the WQAD Beast weather vehicle, lift trucks, tractors, a race car, and Ms. Mariposa’s butterfly bus.

Merger plans announced between parent companies of Midwest Bank and Princeville State Bank
PEORIA (25News Now) - The parent company of Princeville State Bank is merging with the owner of Midwest Bank, which has branches in East Peoria and Galesburg. Princeville State Bank’s parent company, Main Street Bancorp, Inc., will become a part of Western Illinois Bancshares, Inc., in an all-stock transaction, according to a news release.
Man walks into Galesburg High School after being denied access: How the district is responding
GALESBURG, Ill. — A man was escorted out of Galesburg Junior Senior High School Monday morning after gaining entry to the building. The school's principal released a statement to parents saying a man in his mid-20s attempted to gain access to the school through the main office but was denied. He then walked around the building and was mistakenly let in by a student at a side door. After a couple of minutes, a teacher noticed the man was out of place and had security escort him out.
