BIOGRAPHY: My name is Hannah Beth Whitfield, and I am excited to be graduating from Jacksonville Christian Academy in Jacksonville, NC. There are many things that I have enjoyed participating in over my high school years. I have been on the volleyball team, a cheerleader, on the American Christian Honor Society, choir, and participated in many competitions for vocal, platform, and drama events. I have a huge love for children and have been actively involved in the children’s ministry at my church. I have been serving there as an AWANA teacher for the past few years. I also have a passion for theatre and drama and have participated in the Teen Outreach program at Jacksonville Performing Arts for the past 2 years now. After graduation, I’m super excited to begin my journey as a pursue my degree to become an elementary teacher at Southeastern FWB College in Wendell, NC. I am truly grateful to all the amazing and wonderful people throughout my high school years and most importantly during this senior year who have loved, supported, and encouraged me to keep going towards my goals and dreams. Lastly, I am so very thankful to God for His incredible love for me. Dixon High School - McKenzie Tomlinson
BIOGRAPHY: My name is McKenzie Tomlinson, and I am a senior at Dixon High School. I have attended Dixon High School all four years, and for the past two years I have also been enrolled at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics and at Coastal Carolina Community College. In my free time I enjoy going to the beach, playing several sports, going on runs and hikes, and spending time with my friends. I also spend much of my time with my older sister, my parents, and our two dogs. We love traveling, playing games, boating and wakeboarding. I have grown up attending many athletic events at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and I am so excited to be an incoming student there this fall! BIOGRAPHY: Hello, my name is Brett Matson and I live in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Jacksonville may not be where I was born, but it is definitely my hometown. I have been here eighteen years and gone to the same Christian school my whole life. As a senior, I am staring down the barrel of a huge transition. One that will pull me a lot farther from home than I have ever been before. This would be a four-year university. I am currently leaning towards Liberty University, up in Virginia, where I hope to make bonds with fellow Christian students and acquire a bachelor’s degree. Havelock High School - Hunter Sinsel
BIOGRAPHY: Hello my name is Hunter Sinsel and I am a senior at Havelock High School, in Havelock, North Carolina. I have attended Havelock High School since freshman year. Along these four years I have had many adventures and met many different people along the way. I am the oldest child, I have a younger brother who is in 7th grade and we live with my parents. I try my best to do as much as I can for him. I try my best to never show him my flaws. I want him to be better than I am like my father wants me to be better then he is. With this I will be the first person in my family to attend college, I will be attending the University of Mount Olive. I was given the opportunity to play baseball there was well. I will be majoring in nursing so after I graduate I can join the US Airforce. Once in I plan on becoming a pararescuemen, this is someone who gets to go save people in desperate or dire emergencies and serve medical attention to them. I will always try my best to help others even no matter what the situation. With this I am very grateful that I was chosen to be interviewed for Havelock High School Class of 2024.

John Council Rochelle, 84, of Hubert, died Tuesday, April 23,2024 at his home. A Celebration of Life was held Sunday, April 28,2024, at 2:00pm, at Jones Funeral Home-Swansboro with Ed Brown officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
