Hermitage sewer project in danger of being shut down
The city of Hermitage held its monthly city council meeting on Thursday, April 18, 2024. Mayor Matt Cathey opened the meeting by asking Police Chief Ben Poole to present the police report. Poole reported that there were 15 citations for speeding, four citations for no proof of insurance, three citations for driving on suspended license, one citation for running a stop sign, one citation for no driver’s license, one citation for battery in the third degree, one citation for reckless driving, one citation for criminal mischief, and two citations for expired tags. A motion was made and approved to accept the police report. All were in favor.

Jacks stumble in final conference game of the season vs. Monticello, but remain Champions of the 4A East
In a tough 4A East Conference match held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Monticello, Arkansas, the Warren Lumberjacks faced off against Monticello in a highly anticipated soccer clash. The Lumberjacks, entering the match with an impressive 8-3-1 overall record and a flawless 6-0 standing in Conference play, were met with formidable competition from Monticello. Warren also came into the match having played both Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, making this the third game for the Jacks in three days.
Track and Field Lady Jacks win 2024 8-4A District Championship
The Warren Lady Jacks track and field team showcased their dominance yet again as they were crowned the 2024 District Champions for the second year in a row. The meet, held recently, saw the Lady Jacks’ outstanding performances across various events, solidifying their position as a force to be reckoned with in the state.
BCMC Auxiliary members attend spring district meeting
The Bradley County Medical Center Auxiliary recently had a number of members attend the Spring District Meeting in Pine Bluff. This meeting featured representatives from the hospital auxiliaries in Southeast Arkansas. The BCMC Auxiliary is always looking for new members as they help the hospital in many ways. They run the BCMC Thrift Shop in the Brunson Medical Complex, decorate the hospital for special events, donate to hospital causes, serve in the waiting rooms, and do so much more to help Bradley County Medical Center.
Chamber of Commerce welcomes Good News Ice Cream to the community
The Bradley Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for the Good News Ice Cream Shop to officially welcome them to the City of Warren. The Good News Ice Cream Shop is a locally owned and operated business with a wide array of ice cream treats including cones made in-house and banana splits. They are located at 200 West Cypress Street. They are open Tuesday-Thursday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
