Lady Jacks battle, but fall to Nashville in Regional Softball Tournament to finish fantastic season
After being rained out on the opening day of the 4A Regional Tournament on Thursday, the Lady Jacks faced the number one seed from the 7-4A, the Nashville Lady Scrappers on Friday in Nashville, who also happened to be the hosting school for the Tournament. It was the Lady Jacks’ first time in the Regional Tourney since 2019.

Warren High School FBLA students excel at State Conference, Zoe Calhoun advances to Nationals
WARREN, Ark. – The Warren High School Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) showcased their talents and skills at the 2023-2024 FBLA State Conference held in Little Rock, Arkansas. The conference, a gathering of young business enthusiasts from across the state, provided a platform for students to demonstrate their business acumen and compete in various events.
SEACBEC students shine at SkillsUSA State Competition
WARREN, Ark. – Southeast Arkansas Community Based Education Center (SEACBEC) took 35 high school students from Warren, Hermitage, and Woodlawn to compete at the Arkansas SkillsUSA State Leadership Conference located in Hot Springs, Arkansas on April 15-17, 2024. SEACBEC had students competing from all five programs: Computer Science, Construction, Criminal Justice, Medical, and Welding. Students that compete must be members of the SkillsUSA student organization. Prior to the conference, all competitors had to take a knowledge based test and then competed based on their performance at state. With over 1,600 students competing at this year’s state conference, SEACBEC brought home medals in four competitions.

Dr. Bob Smalling appears before Warren Rotary Club
The Rotary Club of Warren met for its weekly gathering Tuesday, April 30 inside the Fellowship Hall at First Methodist Church. Junior Rotarian Jacob Puterbaugh from Warren High School gave his speech to kick the program off. Puterbaugh was the last Junior Rotarian of the year and the Rotary Club wishes all of them the best in their future endeavors.
Hermitage student Cristobal Guerrero crowned 2024 Skills USA State Champion
HERMITAGE, Ark. – Hermitage High School proudly honors Cristobal Guerrero as the 2024 Skills USA State Champion for Carpentry Display. Guerrero’s victory secured him a full scholarship to the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton. Genesis Garay to attend Duke University for masters degree
Genesis Garay, of Hermitage, recently was accepted into the masters program at Duke University to obtain her masters in Biomedical Engineering. Garay applied to 5 different masters programs, including Johns Hopkins, Rice, Boston University, and Georgia Tech. She was accepted into all five, but has chosen to attend Duke. She is the daughter of Jose Garay and Ela Ramirez of Hermitage. Genesis is a graduate of Hermitage High School and Arkansas Tech University.
Jacks to face Elkins in ASN Football Classic in September
WARREN, Ark. – In an exciting announcement from the Arkansas Sports Network (ASN) on Sunday, April 28, it was revealed that the Warren Lumberjacks will clash with the Elkins Elks in the highly anticipated ASN Football Classic. This electrifying event is scheduled to take place on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Thone Stadium and Burkle Field located at Arkansas Tech University.

Billies, Lady Billies enter 4A State Tournament
The Monticello Billies and Lady Billies will both enter the Class 4A State Championship Tournament in Gravette as the second seeds from the 4A South Region. For the Billies, they entered the Regional Tournament as the fourth seed and had to open tournament play against the one seeded Nashville Scrappers.
