Current construction at Lodi Lake has not put a damper on Headwaters Kayak’s annual summer kick-off event next month. The 8th Annual Paddlefest will take place May 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Headwaters co-owner Abigail Christensen said as many as 200 people are expected to attend. Chain controls dropped on I-80 in Sierra as late spring storm rolls through
DONNER SUMMIT – It's almost the end of April, but Northern California still saw chain controls up in the high country on Friday. At about 9:45 a.m., Caltrans had chain control up along Interstate 80 from Drum Forebay to the Donner Lake Interchange. By noon, those chain restrictions were dropped. Caltrans had one lane on the eastbound I-80 closed near Drum Forebay, near an area where the CHP said one person died in a crash.Highway 4 at Lake Alpine is closed due to the snowfall, California Highway Patrol announced early Friday morning. No estimated time of reopening has been given. No controls were up on Highway 50 in the Sierra.A very late-season system is moving through the region into the weekend.
