PULLMAN - The Whitman County Coroner's Office has confirmed the cause and manner of death for Jamie Ann Wilson-Spray, the 25-year-old female in the incident in the 600 NW Block of Fisk Street in Pullman. The cause of death was asphyxia due to compression of the neck and is being ruled a homicide.

Clarkston man accused of dealing fentanyl
A Clarkston man is accused of dealing narcotics after being arrested with hundreds of fentanyl pills. The Quad Cities Drug Task Force arrested 62-year-old Richard Almeida for allegedly possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver, according to a news release by the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday.
33 Year Old Yakima Man Sent To Prison For Leading Whitman County Sheriff’s Deputies On Car Chase
COLFAX - The 33-year-old Yakima man accused of leading Whitman County Sheriff’s Deputies on a car chase in a stolen car with a loaded handgun and drugs is going to prison. Christopher Cornelius pleaded guilty to felony eluding and unlawful possession of a firearm in Whitman County Superior Court on Friday morning. Judge Gary Libey sentenced Cornelius to a year in prison. Judge Libey agreed with the recommended sentence from both the defense and the prosecution. Prosecutor Denis Tracy recommended a sentence at the low end of the standard range because Cornelius was not fighting the case and agreed to the quick resolution.
Whitman County Hosting Workshop On Windfarms Monday In Colfax
PULLMAN - The Whitman County Commissioners will be hosting a workshop on Monday to discuss the rules for windfarms. The meeting is in response to a controversial proposal from a Portland green energy company to build and operate a windfarm near Kamiak Butte North of Pullman. Steelhead Americas wants to construct 45 turbines near the National Natural Landmark. The company says the 300 million dollar 30 year wind farm will produce enough electricity to power 90,000 homes.
