Coming off a banner indoor season in the NCAA, one of the main takeaways was that we need to move our mental goalposts when it comes to distance medley relays. In the good ol’ days (8-10 years ago, when the older half of the CITIUS MAG staff was last in college), 9:30 was really movin’ for a men’s DMR and sub-11 meant you were turning heads on the women’s side. Fast forward to 2024, where neither time will put you in the top 20 in any given season. The top 13 men’s DMRs have been run since 2021, and 9 of the 10 fastest women’s marks were run this season.

Searcy elementary students get new bikes
SEARCY, Ark. (KAIT/KARK) – Students in Searcy got to ride on their new bicycles on Tuesday, thanks to a generous donation. According to content partner KARK, students at Sidney Deener Elementary School were treated to the bikes on April 24 thanks to Walmart and the nonprofit group Wish for Wheels.

Authorities capture escaped Arkansas inmate, woman arrested for assisting
CLEBURNE COUNTY, Ark. — A Cleburne County escaped inmate is back behind bars Wednesday following a five-day search. The Cleburne County Sheriff's Office said 41-year-old Jared West was found and taken into custody off Highway 89 in Faulkner County. West, a jail trustee, escaped the Cleburne County Jail on April 19 after reportedly "taking trash to an outside dumpster."
