Fillmore Man Charged in Attempted Avocado Theft After Ventura County Sting Operation
A Fillmore man with a taste for illegal avocados has found himself in the pits again after a sting operation by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office and the local farming community. Jose Antonio Rosales Hernandez, 32, was busted Wednesday morning on the 100 block of A Street in Fillmore linked to an attempted theft of the green fruit on April 15.
Man Pleads Guilty to Voluntary Manslaughter of Friend
Ventura County District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced that Cameron Scott Lykins, a 28-year-old man from Ojai, pled guilty to one count of voluntary manslaughter for the death of his friend, Houston Auer. Lykins also admitted to several special allegations and aggravating factors, including that he used a deadly weapon and had strike priors.
