(WLOS) — A tractor trailer on fire on I-40 West in Asheville heavily impacted the flow of traffic Friday afternoon, May 3, starting just before 3 p.m. Viewer-submitted photos and video showed the front part of an 18-wheeler completely engulfed in flames, with the trailer parked in the shoulder of the exit ramp at exit 46-A in Buncombe County. ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Wildlife officials in Western North Carolina report that an orphaned bear cub, rescued after people took it out of a tree, is doing well. A video of the incident went viral last month. The footage shows a group of people picking it up to take pictures with it. One person appeared to drop the cub. 2 people arrested after Asheville police receive complaints of 'illicit gun activity'
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Asheville police say two people were taken into custody on April 30 after the department received "community complaints of illicit gun activity." A release from the Asheville Police Department (APD) said while officers were conducting their "crime prevention investigation near downtown around 4:17 p.m. on April 30," they tried to make contact with 36-year-old Brandon Norelle Miller, who APD said was a felon, on Granada Street. He reportedly fled from officers on foot, but he was apprehended shortly afterward.
