“Mostly Positive” Lessons Learned In Child Search
At last week’s Marshall County Local Emergency Planning Committee meeting, various agencies reflected back on the recent search for a lost child in Britton. Well over 100 emergency personnel and civilians helped in the search for the child who was eventually found safe on the night of April 4. The discussion in the meeting revolved around successes and areas for improvement regarding the search.

JH Thinclads Compete In Britton
The Britton-Hecla junior high track squad competed in a pair of recent meets at Milbank and Britton. Event winners in the local meet on Monday that included 18 teams in the seventh grade boys division included Drew Heitmann in the 800 run and the medley relay quartet of Bowen Micko, Luke Bosse, Cody Chapin, and Joseph O’Brien. In the eighth grade boys bracket Jack Teveldal won the 1600 run, the relay team of Lofton Heer, Colton Chapin, Chaz Vietor, and Tanner Atkinson won the 800 relay, and the quartet of Atkinson, Nathan Folkman, Vietor, and Jack Teveldal took the 1600 relay title.
Superintendent Storley Will Take Over LA Principal Job
The Langford Area Board of Education met for a special session last Thursday. As they had in their previous meeting, they discussed budget matters and a possible opt-out in light of new teacher pay mandates. “Many schools will be considering such opt outs to possibly raise additional revenue,” noted LA Superintendent Shad Storley. Ultimately, Storley noted that the board decided not to rush into anything and will study the matter more.
