(KTAL/KMSS) — Someone suggested that Claiborne Parish Historian Wes Harris should examine the backs of the buildings surrounding the Claiborne Parish courthouse because he might find them more remarkable than the fronts of the buildings. So with camera in hand, Harris inspected the exteriors of Homer’s oldest buildings.
Columbia County Wakes Up to down trees and power lines
Columbia County Ark. (KTVE/KARD) — Residents in Taylor woke up to not lights early Monday morning as storms moved through South Arkansas. Trees and powerlines on the roads and in residents yards. The volunteer fire department and county workers spent most of the night clearing roads of trees. The Columbia County Sheriff’s office spent the night working road accidents.

Man accused of brutally killing dog
MINDEN, La. (KSLA) — Bond has been set at $70,000 for a Webster Parish man who is accused of brutally killing a dog that had been left in his care by a family friend. Jeremy Shane Patterson, 49, of the 200 block of Fuller Street in Doyline. is charged with one count each of cruelty to animals and resisting a police officer with force or violence. He is being held in Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
