More prescribed burning near La Pine, Sisters Wednesday
Here is an update from the Deschutes National Forest on planned burns on Wednesday:. Bend-Fort Rock Ranger District firefighters plan to continue prescribed burn operations adjacent to Paulina Lake Road approximately six miles northeast of La Pine and approximately two miles east of the Newberry Estates subdivision. On Wednesday, ignitions are planned for up to 248 acres (Odin North 15) along Paulina Lake Road. Ignitions are slated to begin around 10 a.m.

200 acre controlled burn taking place near Klamath Marsh
KLAMATH COUNTY, Ore. – Fire crews will be conducting a controlled burn in the Fremont-Winema National Forest this week. According to a facebook post by South Central Oregon Fire Management Partnership (SCOFMP), the purpose is to “help restore natural ecological processes associated with low-intensity burning.” SCOFMP says this will improve overall forest health.
