Dannemora, NY- A correctional officer was stabbed twice by a convicted murderer with a makeshift weapon resembling an icepick at Clinton Correctional Facility last Sunday. According to a press release from the New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association, a union representing state employees working in prisons, the inmate lunged at an officer after being asked to take his hands out of his pockets. Union officials say the inmate stabbed the officer twice, once in the shoulder and once in the face, before two other officers got involved and a struggle followed.
