Allen Duane Hamann, age 77, passed into eternal life and peace on Monday, April 22, 2024 at his home in Cedar Rapids. Allen was born on April 11, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Harlan and Lois Hamann. Al grew up on their family farm in Keystone, and after graduating from the last senior class of Keystone High School, Al joined the Navy. He served in the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal as well as a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Following his military career, Al worked in management for UPS, as a delivery driver for Yellow Freight, an electrician for G&H Electric, and as an electrician for Amana/Whirlpool. His work as a chimney sweep earned him some local recognition as well, a job he thoroughly enjoyed in his top hat!
