Tractor Trailer Accident Closes Pompton Ave. in Cedar Grove Friday Afternoon
CEDAR GROVE, NJ -- Portions of Pompton Avenue in Cedar Grove were shut down early Friday afternoon following an accident involving a tractor trailer. According to Cedar Grove police, a tractor trailer went off the roadway and slammed into a building at 792 Route 23, near the corner of Mawal Drive.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER The structure has been compromised and the roadway has been closed until it can be cleared. Police, fire and EMS personnel were on the scene. Authorities have not disclosed whether there are any injuries yet. In a statement at 1:32 p.m., Cedar Grove police said, "Teams are currently shoring the building so that the truck can be removed. The highway will remain closed at this time. Shaabneh is in possession of a Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permit which has subsequently been deactivated.
