Inaugural Workforce Signing Day for high school seniors
Reeds Spring schools and businesses celebrated the outstanding efforts of graduating seniors on April 17 with an inaugural event. RS Works is a program developed to give seniors an opportunity to receive meaningful work experience through employer-paid internships and apprenticeships. Those internships turned into full time jobs for area seniors as they signed with their employers at the first ‘Workforce Signing Day’.
8 injured in Exeter wreck
Eight individuals, including five juveniles, were injured on Friday in a wreck at 3:20 p.m. on Highway 76, one mile east of Exeter. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Samantha Slavens-Mason, 30, of Cassville, was driving a 2015 Ford Flex southbound when her vehicle failed to yield to an eastbound 2010 Infiniti QX56, being driven by Ashley Easter, 35, of Cassville. Both vehicles traveled off the right side of the roadway.
City of Aurora recognizes local teachers, school district
Aurora Mayor Jason Lewis recognized the week of May 6-10 as Teacher Appreciation Week during the Aurora City Council’s April 23 meeting. “On behalf of the City of Aurora, we extended appreciation to all the teachers at Pate Early Childhood Center, Robinson Elementary, Aurora Junior High, Aurora High School, Alternative Learning Center, and also all teachers of public, private, and home schools,” said Lewis.
