Cape Point Campground opens for the 2024 season
The Cape Point Campground in Buxton opened for the 2024 season on Saturday, April 27, per a recent announcement from the Cape Hatteras National Seashore (CHNS). The CHNS’ other seasonal campground – the Frisco Campground – opened on March 30, however, the Cape Point Campground’s opening was delayed due to excessive rainfall-related flooding in the area.
KDH Wawa to open May 16, EC store sometime later this year

Organizers are gearing up for the 2024 season of the Hatteras Community Fish Fry, a weekly Hatteras village event that has been a tradition for roughly 80 years. Once again, the Hatteras Volunteer Fire Department will be the seasonal home of the fish fry from May 25 until August 31. Profits from the Fish Fry are shared among various organizations, including the Hatteras United Methodist Church, the Hatteras Village Volunteer Fire Department, the Hatteras Ladies Fire Auxiliary, and the Hatteras Village Civic Association.
