Holly Oswald, 58; service later
Holly Funk Oswald, 58, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House. Holly was born on December 20, 1965, in Rocky Mount, NC, to the late Paul and Shirley Funk. She attended First Methodist Church in Morehead City where she enjoyed her church family. Holly found joy in companionship and shared laughter with dear friends, always ready for a fun outing or long chat. She was happiest when she was at the beach where she enjoyed the peacefulness of the shore and soaking in the sun. Known for her nurturing spirit, Holly embraced her role as a loving mother and a proud grandmother.
AJ Deese, 82; service April 28
Ambrose "AJ" Deese, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, one day shy of his 83rd birthday. A funeral service to honor AJ’s life will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 28th, at Cape Carteret Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Kevin Club. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.
