Kan. man dead after wrong-way crash, fire on Kan. Turnpike
SHAWNEE COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 1a.m. Monday on the Kansas Turnpike in Shawnee County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2022 Freightliner semi driven by Harsh Batish, 22, Winnipeg, Manitoba, was southbound on Interstate 335 and struck a 2015 Mercedes M-Class driven by Michael Goering, 72, Topeka, who was northbound in the southbound lanes of the turnpike. After impact both vehicles caught fire.
Topeka woman arrested in connection with meth possession after traffic stop north of capital city
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Topeka woman was arrested over the weekend in connection with methamphetamine possession after a traffic stop just north of Topeka, officials said. The traffic stop was conducted by the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office around 9:15 p.m. Sunday in the 2500 block of N.W. Rochester Road.

Topeka woman arrested for driving wrong way on I-70 between Shawnee, Wabaunsee counties
WABAUNSEE COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) - A Topeka woman was arrested for driving the wrong way on I-70 between Shawnee and Wabaunsee Counties. According to a media release shared by the Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook, around 3:28 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, Shawnee County dispatch received more than a dozen calls about a wrong-way driver traveling westbound in the eastbound lane on I-70. Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office deputies made attempts to intervene but were unable to locate the vehicle.
