LORAIN, Ohio (WOIO) - A man accused of threatening Lorain firefighters and several area dispatch centers in March pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Joseph Hengst, 32, of Lorain, was indicted on the charges of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, obstructing official business, impersonation of a peace officer or private police officer and criminal trespass.

Charter captain assists boaters stranded on Lake Erie
Lorain safety services were assisted by a local charter boat captain in saving two boaters whose vessel broke down and began sinking April 28 while on Lake Erie. At 8:30 a.m., the Lorain Fire Department was notified of the boat taking on water, according to a report issued by the Fire Department.

Leroy Eddy talked about his journey to a full crowd at the Center for Peace and Reconciliation. Eddy was born in Sandusky, Ohio and later moved to Wapakoneta. During his childhood, Eddy was bullied for the way he looked and endured both physical and emotional trauma. In his late teenage years heading into adulthood, Eddy experienced trouble with the law that landed him a prison sentence, and that prison term was the pivotal moment that helped transform his life from hate and pain to love and success.
