Woman Whose Vehicle Fell Off Road in Beaumont Identified
A woman who was killed when a vehicle fell 50 feet over the side of a road in Beaumont was identified Sunday. Firefighters responded to the intersection of Highway 79 and California Avenue at about 6:55 a.m. Saturday to a report of a vehicle that had fallen over the side of the road, the Riverside County Fire Department announced.

Man, woman arrested, suspected of elder abuse and trying to set a woman on fire
On April 20, 2024, Yucaipa sheriff deputies conducted a welfare check on the 34600 block of Yucaipa Boulevard and arrested a man and a woman on suspicion of elder abuse after they found an older woman immobilized in bed during a call to a home, according to a news release. Alfredo Benavides, 55, and Jetta Reynor, 58, were arrested on suspicion of torture, criminal threats, assault with a deadly weapon and elder abuse. During the previous night, the suspects were upset with the victim and took her phone away. The suspects threatened to harm the victim, hit her and later attempted to set the victim on fire. The victim was transported to a local area hospital as a precaution.

Investigation of two separate fires in Yucaipa leads to arrest of suspect from New Mexico
Yucaipa Station sheriff's deputies and Yucaipa Fire Department/CAL FIRE personnel were dispatched to an area near Avenue H and Harmony Lane at 1:37 p.m. on April 24 2024 in response to a call about a vehicle that had arrived at the location. It was reported that a suspect in the vehicle threw a gas can and started a fire, a news release from the Yucaipa Police Department said. The fire was extinguished before the Fire Department arrived. As deputies and CAL FIRE Law Enforcement conducted a joint investigation, they learned of another arson related call at a nearby business on County Line Road.
