High school boys soccer: Viewmont edges out Box Elder
A dominant second half showing by Viewmont saw the home side get a much needed 2-1 victory over Region 5 foe Box Elder as they head toward the latter part of the regular season, with an eye toward the playoffs. “It was a pretty classic Region 5 battle. It was two really good teams playing hard and trying to win the game. Really what we have been trying to work on is moving the back quickly through our midfield and getting the ball in dangerous positions to score. The rain played a little bit of a factor, but ultimately, we were able to do what we wanted to do a little bit. We were able to do just enough to get the win,” said Viewmont head coach Spencer Keddington. The game was locked up at 0-0 at halftime, with the best chance of the first half coming from Box Elder’s Nate Walker, who hit the post midway through the half. Viewmont felt like they were really close in getting that breakthrough goal. Keddington pleaded with his team at halftime to keep fighting and to keep the energy up.

If you caught the Utah’s salute to Wayne in May of 2023, don’t worry about seeing the same films over again. The organizers of this event have nearly 180 movies that the star appeared in to choose from, so the chance of repeats is pretty slim.

Logan StoryCorps: A venue is born
Robert Linton: It's wild to think it's been 15 years. And I remember I was performing a little house concert, and my business partner -- he and his wife had just moved to Logan. And I remember after the show was over, we started talking music. And he said to me, "You know, I've got this place that I've been looking at on Federal Avenue that I'm considering turning into a recording studio, it was an old consignment shop." And I was like, "Wow, that's great. You know, I'd love to come in and see what your ideas are." And as we were browsing the building, I remember seeing downstairs and I said to him, "You know, this would be a great spot down here for the performers to be playing and upstairs, where you're already envisioning the studio, it'd be a perfect combination studio-venue that would meet the needs of local artists." That was the beginning of something great. And it's amazing to think how there was so many other people that were so crucial in how it came to be as it is today,
Letter to the Editor: Elected officials stifling public comment
Brigham City use to allow those outside of the city limits to speak for years at the public comment period. Then there was a discussion of getting rid of the public comment period in 2013; the same with the county commissioners, but both decided against it. Then Mayor Vincent and...
