Williams common pleas
Simon Champada, 34, Edon, pleaded guilty to attempted obstructing justice, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was given five months in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio with credit for 127 days served while his case was pending. He also was fined $750 while $1,668 seized in the investigation was ordered forfeited. The charge was amended from tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, while charges of aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs, each a second-degree felony, were dismissed. Ray Ramos, 53, Montpelier, pleaded not guilty to seven counts of rape, each a first-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for May 8 and bond was set at $50,000.
