JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville Pride made a return in a bigger space and more vendors on Saturday, June 1. The event moved to the Twisted Tree Music Hall on the grounds of the Water’s Edge Winery. NEW BERLIN – The Rainbows and Rhinestones drag show at the Danenberger Family Vineyards kicked off Pride month on June 1. “I’m honestly not sure how many people attended. It was a great crowd. You would have to talk to Susan to see about numbers. But it was a great crowd. It looks like everybody enjoyed themselves, and I had many people tell me that it was the first time they had ever been to a drag show and that they were so glad that they had came,” said Brenda Protz, professor of communication at Lincoln Land Community College, activist, public speaker, and part of the local drag performance scene since 2009.
