Southport Fire Department Captain explains how he swam to save an occupant who drove their vehicle into the river
SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — It was just another day at work if you ask Southport Fire Department Capt. Jonathan Bullard on his efforts Tuesday night. Just before 11:30pm Tuesday evening, a car plunged into the river at Waterfront Park in Southport. One person was inside the vehicle and was in danger of drowning. Southport Assistant Police Chief Tony Burke said they responded immediately to the scene.
