Former downtown Shreveport guitar shop will become new apartments with historic flair
Shreveport general contractor John Cush has a mystery on his hands. It has to do with an early 1900s building in the 600 block of Milam Street in downtown Shreveport. Many people call the building "Eugene’s Guitars" from the last business that was located there before it closed. You would be equally right calling it the "Haverty’s Furniture," the "American Furniture," or the "Booth Furniture." It has also been a cafe, housed physician’s offices and been an amusement hall. Like many of the older buildings downtown, 616 Milam has lived many lives.
