LaPlante Sentenced to 50 years for 2023 Attempted Murder in Lewiston
LEWISTON - A man who was found guilty in March in connection to a July 2023 attempted murder in Lewiston was sentenced in Nez Perce County Court on Wednesday morning. 58-year-old Robert J. LaPlante, of Clarkston, pleaded not guilty to attempted first degree murder on October 11, 2023. At a trial in March, it took a jury less than two hours to return a verdict of guilty. On Wednesday, he was sentenced to 50 years in prison by Judge Mark Monson. He will be required to serve a minimum of 25 years before he is eligible for parole.
