DOVER — Portsmouth Christian Academy celebrated the graduation of 43 students in the Class of 2024 on Friday, June 7. Commentary: Dover should use high-performance grass instead of synthetic turf
All communities want the best for their children, and investing in safe playing fields is one of our responsibilities. At Dover High School, coaches, players and parents are justifiably frustrated with playing field quality. Grass fields were installed decades ago, often with poor drainage and have declined under years of inadequate investment. Now, as part of the long overdue rebuild of the stadium, we face a critical decision about the playing surface. Beyond the simplified two options of synthetic turf vs. conventional grass, we need to look at a third option, high-performance grass managed organically for high-intensity use.
