Three downtown St. Petersburg restaurants close somewhat abruptly
As St. Petersburg grows, some businesses are feeling the pain. Three downtown restaurants recently closed, somewhat abruptly. After reports that EDGE District restaurant Bacon Bitch had closed and removed its St. Petersburg location from its website, a visit to the restaurant this week revealed a locked door and bare walls and countertops. There were people inside, but no one answered the door.

Rollbotto Sushi manager launches fundraiser after abrupt closure
May 31, 2024 - According to a GoFundMe campaign and multiple social media posts, former Rollbotto Sushi employees have not received back wages in over two weeks. Owner Nicolas Lecompt abruptly closed the downtown St. Petersburg restaurant adjacent to the Sundial shopping plaza and notified staff via a group text. Former kitchen manager Michael Daley launched the crowdsourced fundraiser to help them receive “what they are owed.”
