Roanoke 7-Eleven clerk sentenced to 20 years in prison after 2023 shooting
ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR)—Court documents showed the 7-Eleven store clerk who shot and killed a customer in April 2023, was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Wednesday, May 16. On April 16, 2023, officers responded to the 7-Eleven on the 1400 block of Gardin Road SW and found an adult man, later identified as Steven Don Crowder, lying unresponsive with a critical gunshot wound. Police pronounced Crowder dead at the scene.
Roanoke furniture retailer debuts showroom-restaurant concept in Manchester
Furniture brand Txtur’s Stock Café & Bar opens today at 604 Hull St. The new spot is both a restaurant and a showroom for the retailer, which is a spinoff of Roanoke-based furniture company Chervan.

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR)—The famous Dr Pepper sign in Downtown Roanoke has added a tropical twist in front, celebrating the recent launch of a new flavor. Dr Pepper released a Creamy Coconut flavor in connection with the hot summer days coming as the summer season approaches. As a seasonal beverage, it was released on May 1 to retailers nationwide and will only be available until the end of July.

SALEM, Va. (WSET) — The Virginia Board of Pharmacy has revealed a list of shocking health and safety violations from a CVS in Salem. CVS/Pharmacy #3794, located at 11 Chestnut Street, was ordered to pay $75,000 for violations, including improper COVID-19 vaccine administration by an inadequately trained nurse and the theft of substantial amounts of pharmaceutical drugs by a pharmacy technician trainee.
