Two Rockingham County men killed in kayak accident
ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) - Two Rockingham County men were killed in a fatal kayak accident on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River on Sunday. Around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting an overturned kayak that had been spotted on the river near the 7100 block of Brocks Gap Road.

From breaking the program record for most points scored in Strasburg basketball history to maintaining a 4.2 GPA, Smith has been named the 2024 Charlie Obaugh auto group student athlete of the year, an accomplishment that took the senior by surprise.
Salvation Army of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County to reopen cooling center
HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - The Salvation Army of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County is relaunching a service this summer season to beat the upcoming high temperatures. “Last year we opened a cooling center when it got extremely hot and that seemed to be very helpful so we’re going to do it again this year,” Lt. Douglas Ingold said.
