Rocky Mount celebrates 20th annual Strawberry Festival
Following the old saying, May is known for its blooming flowers and bright scenery. In Franklin County, however, the month is favored for the fruits and festivals it produces, notably the Strawberry Festival. Hosted by Franklin Heights Church, this year marked the 20th occurrence, which meant attendees were in store for a berry good time.
1 injured after Roanoke shooting; Police searching for suspect
ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) — One person has been hospitalized after an early-morning shooting, and the suspect is still at large, according to the Roanoke Police Department. RPD said their department was dispatched to the 2900 Block of Ravenwood Avenue NW around 2 a.m. on May 14 for the report of a person with a gunshot wound.
Roanoke allocated additional $5.4 million to increase first responder salaries
ROANOKE, Va. – This fiscal year, the City of Roanoke is investing an additional $5.4 million towards salary raises for first responders. Three individuals facing federal charges after Dodge County swatting incident
DODGE COUNTY, Ga. (WGXA) -- Three individuals alleged to be part of an online swatting group are now facing federal charges. 18-year-old Owen Jarboe from Hagerstown, Maryland, 26-year-old Evan Strauss from Moneta, Virginia, and 18-year-old Brayden Grace from Columbus, Ohio are being charged with Conspiracy, Cyberstalking, Interstate Threatening Communications, and Threats to Damage or Destroy by Means of Fire and Explosives.
Grocery prices drop for first time in a year, but shoppers not seeing relief at register

According to the latest Consumer Index Report, grocery prices fell by 0.2 percent from March to April. The price of meats, poultry, fish, eggs, fruits, and vegetables all dropped in April.
