Green River Tunnels to Close at 11 p.m. Wednesday
GREEN RIVER – The Wyoming Department of Transportation will be closing access to the Interstate 80 tunnels outside of Green River on the evening of Wednesday, May 29 from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Crews will be performing annual maintenance on the electrical infrastructure, as well as cleaning and road maintenance. Similar work was performed earlier this month, but crews were unable to complete all the maintenance in one night and scheduled a second closure.

Arbor Day Celebrated in Rock Springs
ROCK SPRINGS – A tree planting event at Garnet Park in Rock Springs recognized Arbor Day and beautification efforts within the city. “Studies show that the more trees and landscaping a city has, the more residents are likely to engage with the public infrastructure and local businesses,” Mark Lyon, the city’s parks superintendent said. “Quality city parks not only enhance the quality of life for residents, but they also enhance the visitor experience as well.”

SWEETWATER COUNTY – A Democrat is challenging two Republican incumbents for a position on the Sweetwater County Board of County Commissioners. Joyce Jansa Corcoran filed to seek election to the county commissioner board Monday and is the sole Democrat filed so far. Corcoran was formerly a member of the Rock Springs City Council and is a former mayor of Lander.
