Man dies after domestic incident in Coon Rapids, suspect arrested

A homicide investigation is underway Wednesday in Coon Rapids, where authorities said a man died of his injuries after police responded to a "domestic incident" in the early morning hours.

Authorities have arrested a 25-year-old Coon Rapids man in connection with the investigation, the Anoka County Sheriff's Office said.

According to the sheriff's office, five law enforcement agencies responded to a domestic incident near the 10300 block of Jay Street Northwest just before 3:30 a.m. Wednesday and found a man suffering life-threatening injuries.

The man was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to a news release, law enforcement arrested a suspect shortly after.

"Please note that there will continue to be a large law enforcement presence near this area as the scene is processed," the sheriff's office stated around 2 p.m. "No additional suspects are being sought in relation to this incident."
