BALTIMORE -- A 15-year-old charged in a mass shooting in Baltimore's Brooklyn Homes community last August will take a plea deal, according to his attorney.The 15-year-old defendant faces 10 charges, including attempted first-degree murder, two riot charges and gun charges.Five suspects were charged in the shooting, which left 28 people injured and two dead, on July 2, 2023.Aaron Brown, 18, and, Tristan Brian Jackson, 18, along with three minors, were charged with attempted first and second-degree murder. BALTIMORE -- The body of a fifth missing construction worker was recovered Wednesday from the wreckage site of the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse.The body of Miguel Angel Luna Gonzalez, 49, was located inside a submerged truck in the Patapsco River, according to the Unified Command.Salvage teams located one of the missing construction vehicles and notified the Maryland Department of State Police, officials said. ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Maryland officials on Wednesday approved more than $3 million in compensation for a Baltimore man who spent 31 years in prison on a wrongful murder conviction. Gov. Wes Moore apologized to Gary Washington during a Board of Public Works meeting where the compensation was approved. “On the behalf of the entire state, I’m sorry for the failure of the justice system,” Moore said, adding that while no amount can make up for the injustice, he prayed the state could provide compensation “in a way that your family deserves.” Washington was a 25-year-old new father when he was convicted in 1987 of first-degree murder and a gun crime in the fatal shooting of Faheem Ali the year before.
