BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified a woman who was found dead in an almond orchard last week west of Bakersfield.

Coroner officials said Claudia Morales Vazquez, 33, of Bakersfield was found dead on April 26 around 8 a.m. at an almond orchard on Superior Road and Stockdale Highway.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of Vazquez’s death.

Investigators then arrested Jaime Regalado Avalos for murder and Nora Lina Vasquez Hernandez for accessory to murder, according to officials.

Avalos and Vasquez-Hernandez both pleaded not guilty to the charges.

They’re due back in court next month. Regalado-Avalos is being held without bail, and Vasquez-Hernandez on $1 million bail.
