Zócalo Artist Residency Program is a fully-funded artist residency located on the beautiful campus of Zócalo Apartments in Spring Branch, Houston, TX. Founded in 2019, the program was established with the vision to cultivate a vibrant, neighborly environment that encourages the interaction between artists and the community. With community-engagement and creative placemaking values at its core, the Zócalo Artist-in-Residency debuted its inaugural flagship program in 2020 with the primary goal of enabling artists to engage with community in meaningful ways while granting artists the freedom to explore critical ideas outside the studio as within.
